BBC Genius of Photography Episodes 1 and 2

This is a great series and really helped me understand the roots of photography in a way that books seemed to have difficulty explaining.

John Szarkowski (2007). The Photographer's Eye . New York: The Museum of Modern Art

This was an interesting book as a starting point for the history of photography. It was also interesting to think of how it must have been as an exhibition.
I was struck though how the main details of interest in the pictures were more of historical details than camera technqiue, for instance the photos that portrayed the interiors of rooms.
There were some amazing pictures such as the movement studies.
